Navigating Career Transitions: Aligning Strengths with Motivation in the Tech Industry

As I have written earlier, in the past article, that on can’t just embark on a journey without any reason(s). there must be something that will cause you to embark on the journey.

The thing that triggers you to embark on that journey is called motivation. Motivation is an internal state that propels individuals to engage in goal-directed behavior. It is often understood as a force that explains why people or animals initiate, continue, or terminate a certain behavior at a particular time. Motivation in business is defined as the inducement and stimulation of person to pursue goals and objectives.

It is not only your motive that makes one to embark on a journey but the strength and capabilities that align with your motive helps you to carry on through the journey.  For instance, I love to be a Nurse because I was motivated base on their dressing but I cannot withstand the sight of blood or I want to be a soldier because of the respect they get from civilians and their uniform commands honour but I do want to go to a war.

These instances portray that your strength does not in any way match with your motivation, you can’t just be motivated by physical attraction and thereby neglecting the internal capabilities. It would have been better to say ‘I love to save people that is the reason I want to be a Nurse.’  Therefore, critically identifying and assessing or analyzing your strength with what motivate your interest in switching to any career is very, very important.
